Air fryer Mandu dumplings are so incredibly delicious and easy to make! Whether you want a casual appetizer, hearty snack or lunch, or fast and filling dinner, this tried-and-true recipe has got you covered.

I love Asian-style potstickers that are crispy and lightly chewy, with a soft and tender inside. And, of course, there has to be just the right balance between the dough wrapper and filling. Authentic Korean Bibigo Mandu Bulgogi chicken dumplings check all of the boxes... They also happen to be super convenient to use straight from the bag, and require much less oil than traditional pan frying!

Simply pick up a frozen pack of dumplings, pop them in the air fryer, and in only 10 minutes the potstickers are ready to serve. Pair them with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy as a satisfying afternoon lunch, snack, or appetizer. They are terrific alongside classic Korean foods - either as a tasty side with a hearty entree, or for a lighter main dish with a variety of sides.

How to make air fryer mandu dumplings

Take the frozen Mandu Bulgogi Chicken Dumplings and place them in the basket of the air fryer. Make sure to spread them out in a single layer. This prevents them from sticking together and allows for even cooking. There's no need to thaw the dumplings beforehand; they can go straight from the freezer to the air fryer.

Lightly spray the dumplings with olive oil. This will help achieve a golden-brown and crispy texture on the outside. Be sure to coat them evenly but avoid using too much oil, as this can make them soggy.

Cook the dumplings at 375°F for about 10 minutes. Halfway through the cooking process, it's a good idea to shake the basket or use tongs to flip the dumplings. This will make sure that all sides of the dumplings get evenly crisped.

The dumplings should be golden brown and crispy on the outside. The filling should be fully cooked, which you can check by ensuring they're steaming hot in the middle or using a food thermometer to see if the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Serve the cooked Mandu Bulgogi Chicken Dumplings hot, accompanied by your chosen dipping sauce. These dumplings make for a delicious appetizer, snack, or side dish.

Difference between a dumpling and a potsticker

The term "dumpling" is, in one way or another, used in cuisines around the world. It simply refers to any filling that is wrapped inside a dough... So, like Korean bulgogi dumplings, technically foods like Italian ravioli, Indian samosas, and Eastern European pierogi are all dumplings.

"Potsticker" or "pot stickers" refers specifically to Asian-style dumplings. These are most popularly made with a thin rice or wheat flour wrapper, and filled with a combination of ground meat and/or veggies. They can then be pan fried, steamed, or air fried to cook.

Mandu-style dumplings are usually a bit larger than traditional potstickers.

Storage suggestions

To store leftover air fried mandu, let them cool to room temperature and then place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator, where they'll stay fresh for up to 3 days.

For reheating, simply put the mandu back in the air fryer at 350°F for about 3-5 minutes, or until they're thoroughly warmed and regain their crispiness. This method helps maintain their texture and flavor.
